The \u00bbBrutal & Beuys\u00ab mug set, designed by REH (GERMANY), encompasses four stoneware mugs in unglazed and\/or grey glazed finish. Its purist aesthetic and uniquely shaped base allow for easy stacking with other stoneware mugs. Made by one of the last family-run stoneware ceramic manufacturers in Germany, these signatured stoneware mugs are fired at 1300 \u00b0C, similar to porcelain, making it dishwasher-safe. Ideal for everyday use in homes, restaurants, caf\u00e9s, holiday apartments, or hotels.<\/p>\n

The \u00bbBrutal\u00ab is entirely glazed with a purist, grey-green glaze, reminiscent of the natural colour of lichen on trees or the colouration of raw concrete, which is why the cup is named \u00bbBrutal\u00ab, in reference to brutalist architectural buildings.<\/p>\n

The \u00bbBeuys\u00ab mug is glazed inside and left unglazed on the outside for a raw aesthetic, which will get a gentle patina over time. The raw unglazed finish is a tribute to the pioneering German artist Joseph \u00bbBeuys\u00ab, who used raw, natural materials and actions to advocate for an expanded concept of art. He aimed to collectively address the ecological crisis by non-dualistic ways of thinking, in order to align with our true purpose in life, the preservation of nature, our source.<\/p>\n

The ceramic set is part of the grey and unglazed \u00bbSingular\u00ab Tableware Collection designed in 2021, which emerged out of the black and white ceramic collection \u00bbPolar\u00ab from 2015. All ceramics are designed to be mixed with each other in every day life.<\/p>\n

Embracing both polarity and singularity, becomes a path to understanding the profound interplay of existence. It invites us to navigate life’s complexities while recognising the underlying unity that binds us all. While our ceramic collections seem homogeneous at first, each piece is singular with subtle unique differences, influenced by factors such as hand-thrown production on the potter’s wheel, glazing, shrinkage during the drying processes, and the varying heat temperatures depending on the oven placement during the double-firing process.<\/p>\n
